DotGlasses Named 1st Prize At Seedstars Summit 2019
DotGlasses was recently announced the first prize at the Explorer pitch competition of Seedstars Summit 2019 in Switzerland, the global stage where by National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA has supported Thai startups to partake.
DotGlasses, the first prize at the Explorer pitch competition, develops a simple technology improving the access to sight care in the world. The winner was awarded with a Tag Heuer watch as well as a Logitech Brio camera. The runner-up of the competition was NoisyPeak, a Swiss start-up who is building innovative and low-connection adapted live streaming solutions. The third place was held by hiLyte, a start-up developing clean and affordable batteries to spread the access to clean energy in emerging markets.
Following to their winning at the local Bangkok event last year, three NIA-selected startups, Eatlab, Nasket and Liluna attended the Seedstars Summit 2019. Eatlab is deep tech startup which has successfully applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the food business development. Liluna, an application which help traveler find a travel companion. Nasket, a PropTech startup which helps condominium residents to buy products, find a housemaid, or order room service food delivery.
During the trip, the Thai startups have a chance to visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) which is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research, Tag Heuer, Gotham co-working space or the city of Lausanne. They also joined two-day bootcamp, The Investor Forum and the Summit workshops, main stage & meetings.
The 6th edition of the Seedstars Summit, all 78 participating startups took part in an intensive bootcamp at the Beaulieu Palace in Lausanne. The two days consisted of mentoring sessions with the ﬁrst day focused on speciﬁc industry groups where mentors examined each startup’s business model and ﬁnancial sustainability, and the second day was designed around intensive one-on-one sessions.
