NIA joined hands with Vietnam’s Science and Technology Ministry for startup exchange at TECHFEST Vietnam
The Science and Technology Ministry of Vietnam in cooperation with relevant partners and social and economic organizations has recently joined force to organize the annual Techfest Vietnam to promote technology advancement in AI Blockchain businesses, especially Fintech. The event allows startups and investors to meet and exchange ideas, enhance capability and expand more investment.
Techfest Vietnam is an event with exhibitors from neighboring regions and from around the world, including Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. It follows the rising trend of Fintech and Edtech which is flourishing in Vietnam. Highlights of the event is the internationalization of the event with “From here to global” is the main theme.
This year, the National Innovation Agency (NIA) on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand also joined the lecture on “Policy on Promotion and Development of Startup Ecosystem in Thailand” as well as Social Innovation.
NIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam’s National Agency for Technology, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC). The aim is to encourage startups and share and exchange innovative ideas, for example, startup exchange program to explore the market in both short and long term; access to government services, mentoring and training, as well as Co-Working Space.
The annual Techfest Vietnam this year is a collaboration to increase market opportunity for startups. Presided over the opening ceremony was Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc who showed his support for the universities to allocate areas for trial and test the ideas. He also mentioned the policy of promoting technology entrepreneurship for the new generation who will be a major force in driving economic and social development of Vietnam in the future.
